Michelin PR2/SWMoto

SwMoto has 2 different 180/55/ZR17 PR2"s listed. One for $171,95, and another (same size) with a B rating for $196.95. Anyone know what the difference is? Evidently the tires that most of us have been running with the "little" B on them have not been the B rated tires, because most have been paying around $160.00, and this is the first time that I have seen SWMoto offer a separate B rated tire. I might be switching to Avon...

Edit...I just checked 2 rear PR2's that I have and they both have LR (B) on them, I paid $156.00 for them last September. I'll be danged if I'm gonna pay $200.00 for the same tire this time around.

Those are a little cheaper, however, no "B" rating. According to Michelin, the GT takes the Load range B.

SWMoto recently was sold by its owner Blaine for a boatload of money to Tucson Honda. In the new owner's infinite wisdom, they raised all the prices as well.

Buh-Bye SWMoto.

I heard that Blaine sold out, but what strikes me as strange, is that Blaine didn't used to stock/sell a B rated PR2, but the tires that we were getting from him did in fact have the B rating on them. The "regular" PR2 listed on the SWMoto site is just $10.00 or so more than what I had paid in the past, but the B rated tire is off the charts. Most of the other sites don't stock a B rated PR2, at least I can't find any. I've gone through 2 sets of them and I really like how they perform on wet pavement and in the twisties.

One thing that I don't like about them, is that if you tend to ride the corners aggressively, the sides of the tire, with the softer compound, tend to wear very uneven, ie, cup. Guess I'm gonna mount a set of Storms.

Edit...I just found em on another site and they are only $9.00 more. That sounds about right.
Good Bye SWMoto....great when Blaine ran it,ripoff now.
