GT tank bag advice

I am thinking I will want a tank bag before I do any touring with the GT (just got last August, so haven't been far off the beaten track with it yet)
The dealer will give me a discount on a BMW tank bag (I am assuming there is just one offered by BMW). Any good reports on the BMW tank bag, and also is there some other tank bag I should consider (especially if it would cost way less than the BMW one cuz that thing is crazy expensive, even with the discount).
Any pics would be appreciated.

I have the BMW tank bag on my GT, and right now I don't have it on the bike. As for the pros its well made, large enough, but not like the leaning tower of pisa I have seen some guys use. It comes with that little water proof cover that looks like a shower cap. It has a soft rubber gasket on the bottom making it impossible to scratch the tank with it. Has the GT logo on it, quick release makes it easy to move out of the way to fuel up. Cons are it requires affixing a velcro strap between the tank and seat, not really visible, but it snags anything you wash the bike with. The biggest con is the mounting point on the top of the bag is a real pain in the ass to get to. First chance I get I will mount it on the bike and get some pics for you. Overall its a great bag, does not block view of GPS in standard mounting position, but will blow your horn full lock to the left.

Not seeing a mounting ring for a GT? Price sounds good, but then have to buy a ring. Still want to look into this a little more before I pull the trigger on it though, they have lots of designs.

Yeah the BMW tankbag was a pain on the front too.
Is the velcro on the back the only thing that hold the rear down?

The Velcro is in the space between the seat & tank, and the tankbag has two long straps with velcro at the end which attaches to the peice between the tank& seat its a very strong hold I had a hell of a time taking it off. I will post pics frst chance I get

Took the mounting ring off my R12ST and it fits the K12GT just fine! I have the small Daypack and nothing touches the paint. It's not huge, but it does the job for commuting. They do make larger units but I haven't tried one yet to see if they touch plastic.

I have the bmw tank bag. Maybe I'm just too old to learn but evey time I stop for gas I hit the horn button much to the amusement of my friends and . I'm looking at bafs from Big Mak Accessories at http://www.bigmakaccess.com. The web site is not as good as it use to be. Robert W on this site posted some pictures of his set up. I wasn't able to find them. In a nutshell, there has to be better bags available for the GT than the BMW bag. Just my 0.02.
