New K 1300 GT

I pulled the trigger today on a new Magnesium Beige K 1300 GT!! I take delivery in about a week. I have $ 1500 in accessories to purchase ( wouldn't give me the $1500 off the price) from BMW. What are some accessories that some of you would suggest? Thanks!!

If it has to be BMW accessories (not aftermarket), I would say the large topcase and maybe a tank bag?
If you can buy aftermarket, hmmmm, I like my BakUp backrest (if you don't want a top case).
Or apparel, maybe a rain suit or riding suit?
Myself i am not really big on electronic farkles, but you could maybe do a GPS, or driving lights, or a bigger windshield? What area do you think you want to improve?
Congrats, BTW, they are really incredible machines. Like a barely controlled explosion going down the road.

I was actually thinking of the smaller black top case (28) with the inner bag. Not quite as expensive as the big top case. Other than that I don't have too many other ideas. Rain gear is a good idea. Maybe a new jacket or helmet. Thanks for input !

Have them install a second power outlet wired with a 15 amp fuse directly to the battery, and pick up the battery charger while your at it

I got the large topcase and I had them paint it to match the bike. It looks great!

Yes, get the 2nd accessory outlet. It is a priority especailly if you use heated clothing or want to plug in a pump or other goodies. The Canbus outlet is only good for the proprietary BMW canbus charger wahich is a good charger as it really keeps the battery in better condition than an ordinary Battery Tender.

Also a must is the new BMW LED flashing tailight...

My 1300GT is a week old and tomorow I will have the 600 miles in for service set up for next week.

Top case definitely. Outlet yup. How about their version of a Zumo? If it has to be BMW stuff. I'd think that you ought to be able to get just about any dealer to give you $1500 cash though. Or at least non BMW farkles from their shop. Set of PIAA's maybe?

Definitely the topcase, maybe a tankbag. A GPS and mount if you don't have one isn't a bad idea.

Thanks for all the ideas!! Topcase definitely. 49 liter or 28 liter? Does anyone have the inner bags for the topcase or even the sidecase inner bags? Power outlet and battery charger for sure. Thanks again for the input.

Bigger is better when it comes to the top case IMO. You can always take it off when not in use. But you can't always add space if you find you need it later. Mine is always on. Never take it off and I don't even know it's there. Then again I hardly ever get on the bike unless there is at least a few days travel involved. The inner bags will cut down on your space but some guys find them desirable. Personally I never found the need for them. I don't tend to stay in places where there is a long walk involved to get to my room. Little po-dunk towns and mom and pop motels are more the way I like to travel so my bike is right in front of my room. If you need to park and walk a ways from your bike then you might want the liners.
