Smile Bent Front Rim???

I had tries put on my 08 1200 GT a couple of days ago when they balanced the front tire they asked me if i hit a pothole because my front rim was bent. They took me back and showed me the rim spinning on the balancer and it was bent down not side to side no creases or paint chipping .I have never hit anything that hard and have never felt a vibration or that the front tire was not true even with the old tires. They told me that it was holding air and they would balance the tire and a new rim was 600$ not including the bearings? So not having a spare 600$ i head home and think this bike is going to chatter and vibrate or something and it was the one of the smoothest rides i have ever had no vibration it doesnt even fill bent.I ride this bike every day to work it is my daily driver weather permitting and i rode to work the next day and it fills fine i even took her up to 90 locked on the course control and took my hands off the handle bars and the bike ran straight as an arrow?I have gone even faster than that and pushed it in the corners and i dont fill a thing. What do i do get a new rim or have this one straightened or ride it the way that apparently have been for the last 7000 plus miles.Any input would be much appreciated

You might try Pro Spray in Denver (1-719-325-6366). They supposedly are mobile and can come to you. Guy had his Wing fixed by a mobile wheel doc and was impressed. They are popping up all over the place now. Cost was $125 if I recall and they even touched up some paint chips too. BMW rims are pretty malleable.

Amazing what they can do.

Just curious, do you have a spare rear, too? 5.5" or 6"?

I have a set of the sport wheels (6") in silver that I may be selling soon. I have a forum member that I am giving a first shot at them. If he doesn't want them then I'll be selling them to whom ever wants them.

Yes. Front and rear. Non sport model so 5.5 on the rears. I've been holding on to them as a spare in case my mag wheels take a crap.
