A bit of model number triva

Just noticed on the RealOEM site that there are quite of few K44 model changes during the year which constitutes a new model code. The K1200 and K1300 share the same K44 code (which is odd).

In 2004, BMW made only 2 mods.
2005 shows 4 mods.
2006 shows 11 mods.
2007 shows 12 mods.
2008 shows 9 mods and maybe more to come?
2009 who knows?

No wonder I sometimes have issues ordering parts and the wrong drain plug shows up (different thread pitch). Parts lady wanted my VIN number off my DMV tag and wrote it down for future reference.
