Ram Mount

Anyone using a Ram Mount on a K1300GT (or K1200GT)? I am interested in getting one to mount my iPhone, but don't know whether to get the standard 'U BOLD' one or a different mount... would appreciate any input on that, or if there is a better mount out there to mount an iPhone 3G.

Thanks

Be aware that the iPhone won't work with gloves.

Correct, but I don't need to use it other than when I am stopped and can take off my gloves. Otherwise I have MOTION GPS running, or I will be listening to music.

I just need to know how/if people are using the RAM MOUNT on the K1300GT... and which mount(s) they've used.

Sorry but the ones I use on my 07GT are different than the 1300 since you have the "updated" controls. Maybe Arnie Palmer has a 1300 and can help?

I use a RAM ball mount off the bolts that secure the handle bar risers.

is that the factory adjustable riser you are talking about?

Did you have to get a longer bolt to make that work?

Yes the factory risers. You take the plastic cover off the bottom and will see there is plenty of bolt left after putting the RAM Ball on. I like it because on short trips I don't have my GPS on and the bike looks normal without all kinds of mounts hanging off the handlebars.
