OK Who's the DA that let me talk myself into THIS!

Well I couldn't spring for a 09 so I went with an 08. Only 2700 on the clock and 28 months left of factory warranty. Had them add the top case for a killer deal. I guess there are not a lot of GT buyers and the fact that they had 3 used ones for some time helped.

And the fact that this one is not a stock color, EVEN BETTER, for me anyways.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I LOVE this blue and you most likey won't see another one either. (probably becasue i'm the only other person on this planet that likes this color! LOL)

Anyway attached up the Centech fuse panel, powered tank bag and the Garmin 2820 last night with XM on mount on the front. I'm seeing if I like the GPS there. it was up on the dash with a GadgetGuy mount on the RT and love it there. We'll see.

Now a Seat and different windsheild are in order and then i'm DONE! YEahhhh Right!

Oh, so that's what the fast color looks like. I know it's gotta be fast, else all the other GTs would beat it up.

And I know what you mean about the seat. Fortunately, you're just down the road from one of the best custom seat builders out there. I had Bill (Rocky) Mayer do my GT seat the day I picked the bike up from the dealer. There were two other new GTs there that day as well. And the seat still rocks, even after 87K miles.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

AHHHH two of the bigger culprits speak up!

It had a mayer on it before i bought it but the dealer took it off and sold it to another customer before i got back to buy the bike some weeks later. it felt good but probably wasn't broken in as the bike only had the 2800 miles. I have a Sargent on the RT and like that really well.

Thanks guys for the all of your posts and expertise!

Thumbs up Love the blue!

That color looks really nice.

I just got my 1300GT and I would like to know more details of how you connected and mounted the GPS and other electronics.

I have a Garmin 2720 now, but need to replace everything else - sound system, electrical, etc.

Aux power:
A couple of options here:
1) there is a power feeder outlet on the 08 anyway that is taped to the front of the steerer tube on the front end. this takes a BMW part that i picked up tonight to plug into. There are 3 wires, a ground, a always on power and one fed through the CanBus, more info:
Aux power 1

2) Search for Centech AP-1 fuse panel. Fits very nicley on top of the battery under the front cover. I velcro'd mine to the top of it and also have a relay attached to it to be a switched power unit. this allows for 8 connections, up to a total of 60 Amps. These can be picked up in numberouse places, I tapped into the front running lights for the power tickler source. Check this picture for an example.

GPS: good link there are a couple of ways to mount it many options:
1) I got my mount from the BMW dealer that mounts to the top of the handle bar stem. it was $25 dollars. P/N 71 60 7 676 868

2) RAM: Check this link that i found for a view of this i found here

3) Gadget Guy good quality stuff i have one of his mounts on my RT. GadgetGuy

A lot of good info here its just a matter of disseminating all of it.

Enjoy and be safe!

I think it looks good in blue. You just need to color match the topcase. I have a custom color myself, BMW Jet Black. This is the color you want if you want the fastest bike. Might be the only one in the world.

I use a calsci shield and sargent seat, and am pleased with them.

Now that's a nice black!

Get some Zanio Brother's Show Wax along with their their clay bar and it will pop! Stuff goes a long way. Two ounces will do a whole car - No kidding!

Their kit # ZKIT-1 for $84.70 is a good start and mine last's me about 2-3 years. Now that I got leather seats I'll probably go their next step up as it has leather treatment stuff too.
