Pics of my new Russell seat

Thought some might like to see my new Russell. It's a solo (rider only) in full graphite leather. And yes it is as comfy as it looks :-) Also a big thanks to TCSport (Eric) who most graciously loaned me his stock seats so I could keep riding while mine were being Russell-ized

Looks nice and comfy as well.

I assume the solo only is you only had their Spring-Wing in the front section only but covered the rear section in the fabric and sewn just for the pattern?

Good selection on the rectangular sewing. I had that on my old one and it does look better than the older style retro diamonds or squares on the BMW.

Yup, a solo is driver portion only, rear covered to match. The older diamond or small square patterns would have looked very out of place. I have to say I'm very happy with way it turned out. Russell nailed it with the seating position and the workmanship is outstanding. I've only done a few hundred miles on it but I can tell it will be very easy to go tank to tank with no pain, the stock seat had me squirming after about 90 minutes.

How long did it take from the time you shipped the seats out til you got them back?

I had a production date of May 13th, Russell has been very busy, (and I was told they were running about 10 days or so behind) the fellow who was to build my seat called me on the 29th to discuss how I wanted it to fit, I had it about a week later.I was very fortunate to have had ( thanks again E) stock seats to use while the Russell was being built. But I'd say being the height of the season the turn around was quite good, and the folks at Russell are a pleasure to deal with.

What's wrong with yours?
....
Never mind. Saw it. Must be a 1300 with bad switch gear.

Looks great! Please tell me about the process you went through. How do they customize it for you without you (your behind) being there?

I had Bill Mayer make a GS seat for me at the 2004 BMW MOA in Spokane and I
L-O-V-E - Loved it. Of course, I was there and he had me sit on the bike and he carved the seat to fit my ample posterior.

Order process is pretty simple: Take several pictures of you on bike (follow instrutions on Russell web site) send in seat pay them $$ :-) I also asked that the person that was to build my seat contact me before the build so I could discuss what I wanted, he got it spot on in terms of reach to the ground position of the "pocket" angle of the seat , etc. For mo better info check out Russell's site and or give them a call really nice folks at Russell. I have had pretty much everyones's seats Sargent, Mayer, Corbin, etc Russell is by far the most comfy (for me) HTH
