Arrow Power Frk question

So you guys that have installed the frk. Do you all have the new airbox/software? New O2 sensor?

I'm new to this bike and just got the high idle/bbs on the ride home from my 6k service, running original airbox & software.

Mine is an '08 and it has the latest airbox. The software was updated a year ago. Original O2 sensor. The Power FRK works great!

I may be wrong, but I doubt the FRK will have any input over the idle servo plunger or the airbox where the two (3 if you add distribution thing) stick/bind which causes the high idle or no idle situation. Those two are pretty severe on engine performance from 0-3200 RPM).

I'd address the airbox first, and then try the FRK if you get the 3200 RPM hesitation on cracking the throttle open.

Mine started the high idle thing the day after my 10,000km service. The dealer swears black and blue it was nothing to do with the service but it is strange how yours has done the same thing. At least you can get it fixed. I had mine for about 10,000km before the new airbox was released.

My '07 has the newest airbox and I think V11 software. And later a new O2 sensor and the Power FRK.

Agreed. If you're having high idle issues, take it back to BMW and make them fix that. Then do the FRK afterwards to cure that flat spot and smooth out the low-speed idle.

Mine is better, too. Of course, it could be the new O2 sensor.

What was that middle thang?

Thumbs up

ok, thanks guys.

I was just curious if the frk was the fix-all or if I should do the other mods as well.
Sounds like I should start with the airbox/software.

Here's my take on it:

Get BMW to upgrade you to the latest airbox and software. That eliminates the scary stuck-at-3K-rpms scenario. And they messed it up the first time, so they should be forced to fix it on their Euro.

Then if you're still having low speed idle issues and a flat spot around 3-4K rpms, get the Power FRK and a new O2 sensor. And shim out the throttle butterfly stepper motor too, while you're in there. All of that will run you under $500, and you'll feel like you got a whole new bike.

Trust me, it's much cheaper than trading up to a K13GT.
