I Did It!

I traded my 2006 FJR1300 in today for a 2009 1300 GT!

Even though I experienced the "Left Turn Signal Switch Failure" IMMEDIATELY (part was ordered and will be replaced at 600 miles), I rode her home!!! SWEET!!

I honestly cannot believe the difference in comfort and smoothness between the 1300GT and the FJR!!!

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH NEW BIKE SO FAR (only 150 miles so far)!

Best Regards,

Shane

Congrats on your new toy. My dealer let me take a 1300GT for a couple of hour test ride last weekend and it was a sweet bike. I'm hoping you got one of the fast colors. How about a pic.

Oh, and welcome to the secret society.

Congratulations!

Interesting to hear. Being a long-time "jap" bike rider, the FJR and Concours were top of my list to replace my Honda CBR1000F as a "tourer". The Concours didn't make it past the "sitting on it" stage, due to passenger accommodations.

But the FJR was still in. Riding them back to back, though and it didn't compare. I ended up buying a "left over" 2008. Happy! Hope you'll be too.

Congrats, they are a blast, getting my switches replaced tomorrow during the 600mi service. Enjoy the ride.

Thanks ALL!

While I won't be able to do much riding until I get back from vacation (end of July), at least it will be ready when I get back!

My only additions I need to make are:

1) Taller Windshield
2) A new GPS!

Hope to hook up with some of y'all when I get back!

Shane

Please keep us posted on your new K1300GT. I, and probably others as well, would like to hear how it compares to your 2006 FJR - power, handling, comfort, buzzyness, shifting, etc.

I have a 2007 FJR and am considering something new this fall when the new models come out.

Congrats on the new bike. And if you need somebody to keep it warm for you while you're on vacation, feel free to drop it off.
