Sliders?

Are there any aftermarket sliders for the 1300GT?

Thanks,

Shane

At the bottom of the page is a "Similar Threads" section that may give you what you're looking for.

You can also go into the "Search" menu near the top of the the thread. Putting "frame sliders" into the Search box gives lots of hits.

The bottom line is that no one really makes GT-specific sliders, but the frame is the same as the K12S and K12R bikes, so some guys have used those sliders and just cut holes in the GT's fairing. I doubt that the K13 is any different in this regard.

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

I installed the ones from Pirates Lair on my 2006 GT and like them a lot.

"Anyone test these things out yet and see how well they work with regards to subsequent damages?"

Was the fairing touched at all if the bike did fall over?

I was thinking someone should come up with one for the lower portion and make it seem more blended to the bike, and maybe have some sort of foldout rider's foot pegs too.

Do they work? Really? I just don't see how those things are going to protect squat. Very hard to believe from the picture that they are going to do anything other than give what already looks top heavy a better pivot point. And the saddle bags are toast no matter what. I'd be interested to see pictures of one that has been down though.

Come on, some body that really believes in these things step up to the plate......take one for the team......give it the old 50 mph lay down and slide!

You mean "Insurance that you can afford."

Try dropping it a few times and see what happens to your rate. Ouch!

I have to pay the thousands for parts out of pocket now when it goes over for whatever reason (some not my own either!) - or else pay an extra $1000+ year for the privilege of calling my agent.

Bike needs an airbag for itself.
