Question K1300GT recommended tire pressure

This should be info that's easy to find but I have searched the forums and goggled it but I can't seem to find the proper recommended tire pressure for my K1300GT in psi.

My manual googled "2.5 bar front and 2.9 bar back" whatever that means.

What are people inflating to (one up, no luggage)?

That is the recommended tire pressure for my K1300GT in bars (metric unit of pressure). To convert just go to Google and type '2.5 bar to psi'.

Yep, that's what 2.5 bar front and 2.9 bar rear translates to in English.

Some tires work better with higher front pressures, say 38-40 psi. Notably the higher pressure helps reduce cupping and uneven wear on the BT021 front tires.

Ah, that's why it's cupping! Damn! Oh well, another 1500 miles and new tires. But, I will remember that. Thanks,

No, it's cupping because it's a Bridgestone. The higher pressure just minimizes that "feature" of those tires.

Or you could run Avon Storms which don't cup, stick like glue wet or dry, and maintain their handling characteristics all the way down to the wear bars. If you cared about any of that, that is.

Guess you like the Avon Storms. What mileage do you get out of them?

I get ~7-8K rear, and ~12K front. Then again, I'm really hard on tires, and I haven't found anything that gets significantly better mileage than that.

Check this thread for my thoughts, and this post for my most recent update.

And trust me, at 94K miles (that's 13 fronts and 20 rears), I've pretty much tried them all.

Ken,
Seeing as how you have been through so many tires, what is your opinion on the Michelin PR2's? My Stock Bridgestones are doing the cupping thing with only 5,600 miles on the clock so I'm getting ready to swap them out at my next service.

Initial Success, or Total Failure.
