K12gt electrical questions

I have a mechanic friend who is going to help me install a Centech fuse box, and asked me a simple question: Does a 2008 K1200gt utlize fuses or switches? I don't know, but he says it makes a difference if he has to install a fuse panel or not. So...fuse or switches?

There are no fuses on the K12GT, at all. It uses a CanBus system instead that monitors current flow and will shut off a circuit if it exceeds certain preset parameters.

I suggest you refer your mechanic friend to the previous thread that you started on this topic. Specifically, all the info he needs is in post #2.

If he doesn't understand what's said in there, then have him (or you) ask more detailed questions. If he still doesn't understand, then I don't think I'd let him work on my bike.

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Thanks. I am hesitant to take the plunge on the electrical without a lot of knowledge. I did purchase the adapter and will give it a try.
