Ouch

I was on a club overnight ride last weekend, panniers and topbox loaded, minister for war on the back.

After quite a few miles of boring roads my eyes lit up when I read the corner entry sign coming up warning me of tight twisty corners for the next 6 ks.

Switched her into sport mode dropped her into 4th gear and pushed hard on the handlebar for the first left hander then CRUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Mid corner was a hump in the bitumen that nearly stood me upright again, Did some damage to the header pipe, lower fairing and side stand mount. Not Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on keeping it upright!!! Imagine if you hadn't put it in sport mode first. Consider them fighting scars, add a little touch-up paint and be glad they're on the bottom of the bike! I hate surprises in the middle of corners!!!!

I'm with Gary on this one. Glad you kept it upright. Scars on the bike is better than scars on you and the Miss. Now you have a good war story to tell.

I love this Aussie term. Think I'll give it a shot at home and see if I get away with it!

Sorry about the bike. Just consider it officially broken in.

Congrats on the save! Glad to hear both of you are fine. Bike damage is always a distant second to personal injury. Sand her down, put some fresh paint and it will be fine, it is down low and you have a great story to tell.
