I guess I just don't "get" the IBA thing. I've ridden longer than is required to be an IBA member just trying to GET someplace

Wondering the same thing. I've ridden two over-1,000 mile days at various times in my riding career, simply in order to get somewhere. Neither experience was particularly enjoyable, but no real big deal either, and truth be told probably not very smart. Why would I bother with receipts and crap so I can prove I did it? I guess I don't get it either...

I do. I display my regular IBA plate frame on my primary ride, but I kept the frame for my BBG (1500 mi/24 hr) on the bike that earned it, and then stored the frame when I sold the bike and moved to a Harley for a bit. No way that particular bike would do a BBG, so I didn't want to be deceptive.

Why wouldn't it, would it turn in to a pumpkin?

In UK years ago when motoring was just taking off, the two major breakdown organisations - RAC (Blue) and AA (yellow), issued members with plates for their vehicles.

Whenever a staffer riding a bike and sidecar combo (full of tools) came the other way, they used to salute you.

Do you guys get this with these IBA plates?

No. The "plate" in question is not viewable by someone approaching you. License plates,
and the IBA "frame" at the bottom of it, are only on the back of a motorcycle here in the States.
