Rep. ROM Question

Just got a chance to look at my new Rep. ROM, and it is really cool.

I was wondering if anybody had tried to copy the DVD information to a hard drive, and had any tips/tricks to do so. I frequently take my little netbook on bike trips with me, and it would be nice to have all that bike info along for the ride.

Particularly if I (eventually) get a GS-911...

I made myself a backup copy easily enough using some proprietary DVD copy software. Moving the DVD between desktop and laptop I wanted a bit of security.
Prior to that I tried to back it up onto a hard drive using Windows explorer. No joy, I ran out of patience. There is an impressively “deep” directory structure (I imagine it’s put there for just one reason) which makes a “normal” copy procedure impractical. I’m sure there are work arounds though.

I've done it countless times. It just takes a long time. Grab the whole thing, copy it to wherever you want. Make a shortcut to the reprom.exe and drop it in your menu. I even have copied both my R1200GS and K1200GT DVD's as well as my GS-911 software on my new netbook. The RepROM is a little slow, but works perfectly.
