Fuel Gage Problem

Hello all,
I am riding a 08 K1200GT, my electronic fuel gage and Oil check has gone out. The rest of the functionality is still there. Has anyone had this happen to their bike? What did the dealer do about it? And...how many $$$?
Thanks

Fixing the fuel strip is a pretty standard warranty fix. Reminds me of the instrument cluster on the old K bikes, where BMW replaced them all, repeatedly.

Cool fuel guage 08 k1200gt

Yo Matas
I had the same problem (twice) and as someone says it is the fuel strip inside the tank.
it is a warranty item and will be replaced no charge.
It is a common problem with our bikes. Mine is working right now but i use the odometer anyway.(07 k1200gt)
My garmin 660 zumo has a gas guage too, so if the guage craps out, out of warranty i won't get too excited about it .By the way how is your stock seat? Happy riding..We are very much in winter up here.
Have a great Christmas!

The fuel gage on my GT went bad almost immediately after buying it at <1000 miles. Max BMW seemed to know what it was as soon as I mentioned it, and they replaced the sensor which is INSIDE the tank I believe. It took a couple hours, and was warranted. I've had no problems since then over the last ~8000 miles. If you're still within the BMW warranty period...you should be OK. I didn't notice if my oil check was effected too as I rarely use that display and check the oil manually by hand weekly - no consumption ever.
