I've had one of those for years and I like it. One of the unexpected pluses for me was that the seat heater puts out enough heat to go through the pad, so after a while you have the sheepskin with heat. I don't use the pad all the time; only when I know I'm going to be in the saddle a long time.

You stop to pee???

Crap, Why didn't I think of that?!?!?!?!!?

I'm sure my gear would last a lot longer and people might be friendlier when I get to my destination!

Oh, and I'm fan of the AL Sheepskins and Barb who sells them! Awesome lady!

Long or short cut?

Was considering this seat pad too, but I am undecided on the
1" or 3" cut, anyone have an opinion on this?

Here's my take, for what it's worth: I only use mine when I know I'm going to be in the saddle for a long time. On those occasions, even with the sheepskin pad (mine must be the 1" cut, and I didn't know they had a 3" now), after a while my butt gets tired and I need to get off to walk around for at least a few minutes. So - if your usage is like mine, I'd go with the 3". In this case, more is definitely better.

1" or 3"

Actually went to Alaska Leathers website 2 day, saw some pics of the 3"
looks like a wooly mammoth died on the seat their advice is the 1"
is better so ordered a charcoal for me and the passenger, will see
how it all works out soon.
Also ordered the sheepskin shoe/boot liners for $12.95, worth a try.
