new paint job

decided to something different, mother of pearl.

It really shines in the sun, a yellowy goldish color. About half the cars I get behind now move over All I need are some strobes and a white helmet.

factory color was dark graphite and cost for the bike and 3 case lids (fyi- white is applied then pearl is spayed and 3 coats of clear) = $1200

I always thought bikes looked good in white... Don't see enough of them though! Nice job!

Looks very classy...!! I'm sure it looks even better in person.

Not meaning to detract from your post, but I had the ugly matte granite gray '08 R12R sprayed last year too. Often only takes a complete color change to really get a "new" bike. Got such a great deal on it as a demo with only 300mi that I bought the bike, knowing I was going to change that drab color. Had panels of hard bags paint-matched too, though not mounted here, and both sides of panels were sprayed as well as under the tank. Bike was done with a base + 4 coats of clear... Tommy Blue found on couple late model V-Stars...

Both pics taken very late in the day.

Have already started on the current K13S by powdercoating wheels first.

Very nice - who did the painting?

Did you provide the parts or did you have them do it?

Very nice. I also had mine repainted last summer. Painted it Jet Black, same paint code as my 5 series sedan. I love it.

As with most bikes, pictures just do not do them justice.

I took all the parts off and had a local painter do it on the side for me. He works for a motorcycle paint shop so I was'nt worried.
