Just saying Hey

Hello everyone, my name is Tina and I bought a 2010 K1300GT the end of September last year. I absolutely LOVE IT!!! I have nearly 9,000 miles on it, now. I can't stay off of it!

Here are some pics and some add ons that I've done. I made a list of everything I wanted right off the bat, bought all that I needed and then begged a couple of friends to help me install everything. The next thing I'm thinking about is possibly a seat. This one is okay, I've done 1,000 mile days on it but I'm not sure I could do 2 or 3 1,000 mile days in a row.

What mods have you done that I might want to consider?

I added the Autocom Active Plus, a Garmin Zumo 550, P3 Lights, Vision X lights, Fuzeblok FZ-1 and had the top case painted to match.

Starting supplies...

Vision X lights....

Fuzblok under the rear seat...

Velcro the Autocom to the top of the Fuzblok - I wasn't sure if it would fit but my friends tried it and it does. Tight fit, but so far I haven't had any problems with it...

And finally - the Zumo - Need to find my way home, once in a while..

This is Max, my riding partner. He rode with me when I had the R1200ST (unfortunately rear-ended and totaled last summer) but he's ready to go with me on the new bike. NO - he was NOT on the bike when I was hit, thank goodness.

Here it is all ready to go! Top case is on but I also have a cage that mounts in it's place when Max goes.

KNOCK ON TONS of WOOD - I have never had the stalling issue and I'm very thankful for that. I LOVE THIS BIKE!!!

Welcome from Springfield, Vermont. Very nice ride.

As far as seats, every butt is different. I've had Corbin seats and love them. Takes awhile to break them in. Others hate Corbin. Maybe you could find someone you ride with that has an aftermarket seat and try it. Good luke and ride safe.

If you're ever up here riding give me a shout.

PS Any speeding tickets yet?

Reference the second picture, one mod you could do is weld the needlenose pliers to the side stand so you don't have to remember to pick it up every time!
Welcome!

Welcome, Tina. Looks like you're off to a good start.

As for seats, well, every butt is different. You can check this thread for a great discussion on aftermarket seats, and look at post #13 for a summary of the available options.

When you get a chance, can you post a few pics of Max's riding accommodations? I'm sure some folks will find it interesting.

Welcome & congrats!!!

I got mine in Dec and just hit the 2200 mark today. I love the matching color for the top case.

If you get a chance I'd like to see a night picture of those LED lights you have.

Congrats and welcome. I think you need to put a few air holes in that top case though if that white fury critter is going to ride with you!
