Clutch replacement

I have symptoms of a clucth going bad. Neutral hard to find from the first gear, the shift lever needs more pressure to shift gears specially the first three. The dealer informed me of course that the clucth replacement parts are not covered under warranty as it is a wear item. My 2008 kgt has near 50 000 klm, I'd say well ridden, at 52 I'm not the kind of guy to power shift, but I grind the pegs when I can.

While talking to a clerk he told me that clutch replacement don't happen often while the service guy confirmed to replace the clutch on the slants on a regular basis.

So how many of you had to replace the clutch pack only ?
Clutchbasket and oil gear?
And at what mileage?
Milleage Less than 10,000?
10000 20000?
20000 30000?
30000 40000?
40000 50000?
more than 50000?

I like the bike very much, but knowing the cost of clutch replacement I almost regret my ST1300 Honda, almost !

Thanks

Bests Regards

Sylvain

I hate to call him a liar, but he is!!! Lots of folks have had issues and the wear isn't the friction plates on the part that should wear...The basket is crappy soft metal...

I'm on my third. The first actually was replaced under warranty early on for noise.

I'm at 65kmi and still on the original clutch in my 07. In the past couple thou it has started chirping when engaging from a stop, so maybe it's starting to go, but no slippage and good feel and shifting.

I'd like to get a few more voters on this topic, Thanks

About the engine oil, I use Motul 3000, the same as the dealer, and I change it earlier than the specified interval of 10,000 klm.

I have taken my 09 in several times for clutch noise.A&S say's each time normal. My Ducati ST4S has had less trouble than this bike geeezzz.I have 18000 miles on the DUC. Original battery. I can start the bike after 1 month of sitting. 3 days and the BMR is dead...But still like it

Mine starts without issues after sitting the whole winter from Mid december to early march depending of the snow falls in the heated garage. But I admit to starting the engine to get rid of the winter blues and putting the battery on a battery tender once in a while. As soon as I get any signs of weakness, it's going to be an odyssey.
