Cheap way to fix stalling

2006 k1200gt 43,000 miles.

Would someone please tell me why when I pop the gas tank lid on a regular basis the bike no longer stalls???? There must be a venting problem? This bike has stalled regularly since new. The stalling only appears after about 75-100 miles on a new tank of gas. This has had, 2 air boxes, 2 final drives, 2 cam chain tensioners, one ecu, one hydraulic clutch reservoir, front brake light fix, plus the timing was off by one tooth, discovered by a new German tech when second cam chain tensioners was installed. It ran MUCH better after timing was re adjusted. Still stalled though. So, would someone please advise me as to what opening the gas lid does to prevent stalling! ?????
Thanks - Perry in Asheville NC

It kinda sounds to me like the tank is not sucking in air as the fuel level drops... creating enough vacuum to counteract the fuel pump... try finding the vent hose and test it. also check that the pipe coming out of the tank isn't plugged. They may only be partially restricted so take a close look.

This might not be your problem, but its worth a try...
