Valentine 1 mounting???

So I need some suggestions (pics would be nice) of radar dectector mounts on the GT.

Also considering the need for a warning light ..ala the HARD system in the helmet....is there another way of rigging up a LED on the dash rather than going the added stuff in the helmet?

Thanks

Myself, I've never been confident that I'd notice a visual alert, but here's the one:

Sort of like the light system you note but for the V1but it requires the V1 seperate audio control (more $ and more hook ups)

As for the mounting.....how does that shelf attach to the GT?

I use the Big Mac shelf with the audio adapter via my Autocom. The shelf replaces the airfoil and puts the gps and radar up high.

Do you have a picture of your set up? This interests me as to how you did it.

Mirror mount, V1 hardwired. I used heavy duty velcro so I can simply peel it off and store it in my sidecase when I'm off the bike.

Also, I use HARD, not sure it would be effective anywhere but in your field of vision in the helmet......it has saved my arse more than a few times.

Mike M,
I love your set-up. Can you tell me how you did it. Parts #s? Vendors?

Thanks,

Mike G

My setup is virtually a mirror-image of Mike's (even down to the iPod control!), only difference is that I have the V1 on the left side instead of right. I use an audio feed for the V1 alert. It all works very well for me.

The V1 is mounted on a ZTechnik mount (a very well made piece of hardware I will add) and the GPS uses a Garmin motorcycle mount bolted to the BMW mounting plate (a BMW part that mounts to the handlebars and has the four-hole pattern that accepts the Garmin motorcycle mount.) It is not expensive, I'll see if I can dig up the p/n.
