Snagged the last of a breed K13GT

Let's see.

An impending move to San Diego this month with great riding abound = Buy a K13GT.

Deciding the K16 is not my cup of tea = Buy a K13GT.

Possibly having to sell a 2010 Vmax and suffer a horsepower crisis = Buy a K13GT.

Test riding an Apple Red K13GT = whip out the check book!!!

One thing the Vmax reminded me of is what a horsepower nut I am. Thus, my RT felt like it had an anchor tied to it.

Not so with the GT, and so I am making the switch. Verholen risers and peg lowering kit, Aeroflow shield, all on the way!!

What a great bike!

You won't regret it. I just got the K12 and have a huge smile on my face. I had an RT and after riding an K1200S, I was ruined. I felt like I had a reliable tractor after that. While your last might might have had the HP, you'll enjoy the new RPMs and shear pickup that the K13 delivers, but more than that, you'll discover engineering that is really wonderful - especially the ABS brakes, and more.

I think the K13GT is the best of the best. The K16GT just isn't my cup of tea - at least not yet, and it hasn't proven itself, so you are doing the right thing.

Once you make it to SD, make your way up the coast to Capistrano, and then head west over the Ortega Hwy. It's way cool, curves and switch backs. It's a varied ride you will love. I grew up nearby, but its been a long time.

Cheers,

K1300gt

Any other members feel BMW is making a mistake dropping the K1300GT ? I think they are leaving a hole in the line up.The K1600 will just be a bit heavy !30 KG more !
cheers Andrew on his positively light R1200GS (230 KG) (for now)

Yes, I do in fact. Moreover, BMW is going to be producing about 3 GTL's for every 1 GT, so it would seem to me that even BMW realizes that they may have a relatively small market for the GT.

The extra weight and cost make the 16GT an apples to oranges scenario to the 13GT in my opinion.

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

BMW is not dropping the K1300GT. Not sure why people get the impression that BMW is dropping th K1300GT. There is and will always have market for it.

2006 K1200GT
