Fairing for 2006 BMW K1200 GT

I dropped my bike in September and cannot source a replacement fairing. BMW can only offer a 1300 GT fairing which has the ventilation slots. Can anyone suggest where I can get the 2006 type panel ?

Fairing

I had a similar incident this past Thanksgiving so was also looking and found a couple on flebay but only the right panel and still would need a little work....mine was the left so did me no good...here is the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-K...item20b3108182

I elected to have a small time bodywork guy in the are take care of mine he works for several car dealerships in the area taking care of bumpers and small imperfections in the used cars. The work included luggage cover, upper fairing and left fairing...I took all the parts off the bike and took them to the guy and a week later he had them back to me for $250 which I thought was reasonable. Good luck to you, PM me if you have any questions on my experience, maybe we can commiserate about our misfortune
Cheers
JC

I just repaired my '08 K12GT and ordered a new panel from Max BMW. It was special ordered from Germany and arrived in less than 10 days.

Are you sure your dealer knows what they are doing?

Are we saying that the 1300 panels will fit the 1200? That's good to know, and if I were looking for crash replacements I might go that route.

Well, maybe. But if the dealer didn't even know how to order the part for the 1200 I might question his credibility with respect to the 1300 part as well.

This does not sound right 4 years after production and parts are not available? Sounds like your dealer has a couple of K1300 panels he wants off the shelves.

The important question is if the 1200 panels will fit a 1300 because it would make it a much nicer looking bike
