Thanks for the pics Mike,
Looking at it from the front it looks very narrow, and with the pegs as high as they are I'm thinking serious lean angles. I have no doubt this thing will out handle my RS, and be much more comfortable at the same time! I can't wait to see it next week at the NYC show.

Tip over protection?

I own a 2003 K1200LT. I have had the misfortune of having the bike tip over twice standing still and once I totally lost it powering out of a turn (Its not a good idea to read your divorce papers and then jump on your bike all pissed off and its even more embarrasing doing it in a Hooters parking lot). The bike slid about 30 to 45 feet on the left side. I was sure that there would be major damage on that one.

I suffered a broken ankle but was pleasantly surprized to have almost NO damage on my bike. The bike slid on the centerstand and the tip over wings and slightly scuffed the trim moulding on the saddle bags.

When I look at the new GT (which I am seriously considering buying) I don't see any design thought given to tip overs. Can some one enlighten me about their experiece with the current (or now previous) generation K1200GT or the new K1200S. Did BMW design some protection into this new model that I am not seeing?

Gt

Sure glad I bought an 04, Too many sharp edges. Do like the slender look, don't care for the back end.
