Cleaning windshield

A little over two years old and my shield has started to yellow and haze up. It's my dailey rider come hail or hi water. Has anyone ever tried one of these headlight cleaning kits on their windshield and what were the results?

Yes, just 2 days ago, with Blue Magic Headlight Lens Restorer, results were....poor!

Kind of a spare windscreen anyway, otherwise I would have tried Novus 3-2-1, but it is expensive so will save it for the "Good" windscreen.

I've screwed up a number of windshields myself, and I haven't found anything that is really a satisfactory fix. I've learned my lesson the hard way. The only things I use on my windshield are Plexis and microfiber cloth.

I use Plexis too. Seems to be OK for a quick fix. But for deep cleaning I take the shield off and soak it in a mop sink full of hot soapy water to loosen the grime and bugs and wipe if with a soft cloth then rinse. Works pretty good. But nothing I have ever found gets it back to showroom condition. Mine shows no signs of yellowing though.

I've used my Porter-Cable random orbiter polisher with a foam pad and glazing compound. Actually turned out quite well. It's messy, so I'd remove the shield and do it out on the lawn with some old sheet or blanket spread out while working on it.

Here's an overview:

Get a tinted windscreen.....less notice of problems.

Rain-X X-Treme Clean glass and plastic cleaner plus elbow grease. Cheaper than a new windscreen.
