Just Checking... Sat. on Ca. Hwy 1

Just checking to see if it was someone on this forum that was heading south this past Saturday morning (9:30-10ish) on California, Hwy 1 between Watsonville / Moss Landing / Sand City / Monterey. You were wearing a jacket with "BMW" lettering on the back riding a silver GT with a Remus can (?) If so, just saying "hi" and the exhaust note sounded pretty darn nice. I was on my dark blue (albeit faster) GT.

Also, for those of you in the central part of the state or just passing through. On #1 just south of Limekiln State Park is Nacimento - Ferggusson Road, it's tight and twisty uphill until you get into Fort Hunter Liggett and out to Jolon. Then Hwy 58 out of the Santa Margarita area down to Taft on Hwy 33 is ubber fun, especially the hi speed sweepers and whoop-d-whoop sections. And 33 heading west out to Ojai is really sweet too.

Another fun section of roads leading out of Paso Robles is North River Rd to Indian Valley to Peach Tree up to Hwy 25 and into Hollister. Sure beats slabbing it up 101 and the scenery is a whole lot better!!!

Spent the night at Songdog Ranch off of Hwy 33 on Ballinger Canyon Rd (near Ballinger Canyon OHV area) over looking the Cuyama Valley. Great weekend trip and 809 miles of fun!

Not me...I was in the area on my gold (Beige) K13GT but my jacket is bright yellow to match my helmet and I did not see any other GT's on the road.

Agree with your detours too, just did a little loop up to Bakersfield using 33 from Ojai as the primary road 2 weeks ago. I forgot about River rd., been a few years but there are a whole slew of roads in that area that can get you North without having to hit the 101, wife and I used to play "lets avoid the 101" to get from SB to SF.

Yep, that's my backyard, and also part of my "commute" when I"m visiting customers up in Oregon. Great roads . . .

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
