Back on the GT

Having spent the last 3 months and 7,500 miles on the new Multistrada, I decided it was time to pay some attention to the GT. Installed the cam chain jump guard (huge thanks to all who posted data and pix...made it a much easier and drama free install), and changed the oil since she has been sitting for several months. Took her out for a spin around some of the local canyons and I just wanted to post and say: What a great bike! Smooth, killer brakes and suspension, great wind protection, comfortable, etc, etc. IMHO it is the perfect compliment to the Multi, and it's exact opposite in many ways. I am so glad I didn't sell her, and for all those of you who are scared away by BMW stopping production and all the reliability horror stories...take a really good look as this is one great bike.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.

Hey why don't you bring that Multi up here for a few days if you're sick of riding it. I'd be happy to keep it from getting lonely.

You can come on down here and I'll let you drool over it in the garage. Then I'll show you some of the local roads/rides and you can appreciate what she looks like from the back ;- }

Now I know what you mean about coming back to the GT after another bike. In my case, yesterday I took out the R1200GS Adventure for a spin in CT. Came up behind a line of slower moving traffic on RT 7 N and gassed the GSA to pass. Imagine my surprise when the GSA made lots of farting sounds and I eventually passed. On the GT, there is just a rush of electric smooth speed, little noise and no fuss. On the GSA it feels like a lot of work and wind. Just made me appreciate the GT all the more...
