can the brake control be tuned?

2007 k1200gt, and I have a problem with the ON or OFF front brake control. As in, it's either ON or OFF and there's nowhere in between, so it's impossible to get fine control over the bike in low speed situations. I try to come to a smooth stop at a light, and it's fine until the bike just jerks to a stop underneath me and I kick both feet out and my heart gives a couple good pounds while I wait to see if I'm able to keep it from going over.

Can this be fixed at all? Has anyone successfully spliced in a different brake controller from a different bike that would allow you to keep the ABS and integrated brakes, but get back the fine brake control that we're used to with hydraulics?

How many miles on the bike? Does it have BMW pads?
How long have you owned it?

The brakes ARE hydraulic.

Garage
At slow speeds, one (1) finger only. Two fingers or the whole hand make it seem like a light switch at slow speeds.
Two (2) Fingers work best 90% of the rest of the time.

Try laying off the front brake during the slow speed stuff. Using the rear only will help you control the bike nicely.
