First thing I'd ask is how much time did you take to check the mileage? It takes a while of averaging to get a meaningful figure, and I sure hope you're not using the MPG meter because I wouldn't trust that at all.

If you're certain of the MPG difference then the slant-K has a fairly highly-tuned intake/exhaust system from the factory and in this case it might not be good to mess with Mother Nature, or at least not without access to a dyno. On many BMW bikes aftermarket exhaust systems end up making more noise than additional power with any benefit coming more from the weight savings than anything else.

Agree with smiller, Ive got a Remus Okami which is a sort of budget Hexacone can, looks the same but slightly cheaper materials, anyhow..... I have run the can with and without baffle and cant say I noticed any significant MPG difference, massive noise difference and if anything a little less driveability in the midrange. I actually keep putting the OE can back on as I find the Remus a bit tiresome on long runs and also like to think of my neighbours when Im leaving early

Yeah, I get the really loud bangs on overrun too, it does it with the OE can too, just cant really hear it so much. I actually put the Remus back on today with the baffle, much less offensive, but still sure the midrange pickup isnt as good as with the OE.

I didnt notice any differance, but as I said, I cant run it without the baffle, far too noisy.

Im off over to St Davids tomorrow morning for a job so should be around 250 mile round trip, Im gonna see if I can do it on 1 tank, will take some wrist restraint no doubt.

2011 K1300 Gt

How is it you have a 2011 K1300 GT? I thought 2010 was the last year for K1300 GTs. Are they still being made for & sold in European market?

Model year is probably a 2010, mine was registered in 2011, one of the last by all accounts
