Miles and miles and miles

I attended Street Vibrations in Reno, Nevada this past weekend. It's primarily an event geared towards Harley owners and their machines, but it's still fun to go.

Anyway, on the ride back, I joined a new club. Check it out.

Congrats on that! Any major breakdowns in 100K? Are they all your miles?

Heck. That's nothing.

Check out this one...

I don't know what time 5:92 is though?

Might be time for a new $1,400 superseded dash display.

Nice.

I started taking pics of the speedo and the surrounding area every time the bike crossed another thousand miles. Gives quite an interesting look back. One of these days, I'll have to map it out . . .

This pic took a little planning, but it was worth it:

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Yep, all of the miles are mine. I really haven't done much long distance riding. Around California some and over to Arizona and back. I am anxious to do some real riding... I want to do a San Francisco to Seattle to Denver and back ride. I would love to ride through the South. And even a ride across the country.

Unfortunately, those trips require money and time off from work.

The only real problem I've had with the bike was the chair guard issue. I did have an accident with it about a year after I had it. I rear ended the car in front of me after he decided he wanted to stop short in front of me. $11K in parts and labor later, my insurance company paid the claim.

Overall, my K1200GT has been a dream.

Any one that can put 100K + miles on a bike riding primarily around California and remain sane and physically intact has my admiration. Nice job.

My head would explode ...

Well done, funnily enough although in the UK thats seen as stratospheric mileage, 5 years @ 20k a year seems about right to me, Ive just done 25k in the last year. Still good to see that these bikes can do it though, and I still reckon that the bikes that are used regularly tend to have less issues, couold be wrong mind.
