Newbie question

Hi all, I,m sorting out my recently acquired '07 K12 GT, looking for long-term evaluations of the various replacement clutch options (Barnett vs K13 vs ?other). Thanks.

Are you currently having problems with the clutch?

Well, it has an intermittent shuddery rattle at idle which changes, seems less, with the clutch pulled in; and it occasionally squeaks engaging first gear. No slipping or shuddering with engagement, no loss of power with high gear roll on. I gather these may be "normal" clutch sounds with this bike, but it has 37K miles and I'm wondering if I need to start planning a replacement already.

pretty normal!! i have 40-k with about 12-k on a new clutch and does about the same and seems pretty common with these bike's ,i notice it less rite after an oil change..lol as long as it aint shuddering like mine was your probably all good
hell have you ever listened to a ducati at idle..

i've spent most my money on bike's boat's and broad's the rest i've wasted..

Yeah, if it's a little noise only then I wouldn't sweat it. Many of the threads here will have you thinking about stockpiling clutches, timing chains, final drives, ABS controllers, and who knows what else but in reality most bikes won't have most or any of these problems. And if one eventually does bite you you won't know which one it is until it happens anyway, so... ride the bike...

Which means (since I am no longer clutch paranoid) I can get a Remus or something to help it sound like its going as fast as it is...does it really backfire so badly with this, as in the older posts, that it is necessary to plug up the crankcase ventilation?
