pictures of K1200GT with custom paint

I'm considering painting the grey side panels between the tank/seat/behind the panniers the new color of the bike, Starfire pearl white (a Lexus color) but not sure if it's 'too much'.

are there any pictures of K1200GT's with those panels body color coordinated? Another cool idea would be to paint those two panels a platinum or light pewter and have the wheels painted the same.

This was my last bike where I had around 50hrs of custom work into it.

I had posted the same question some months back with no luck... Mine is the Adventurine Silver. Personally, I think it would look great with the monochromatic look.

The only custom paint jobs Ive seen on GT's which I thought, yep, I wouldn't mind that, are a couple I saw done by Wunderlich. What they did was give them a similar look to the old R90S's of the 70's ie: A smoke effect to the edges of the panels with pinstripes, pretty classy I think. Ive looked on the NET but I can only find one of an RT, but it gives the idea.

Take a look at Pirate's K12S. If it's not white, it's black on his bike. There are a lot more pics on the site, but this gives you an idea. His bike is beautiful.

Custom paint . .

IMHO many custom paint/styling jobs ruin the look of a good bike. BMW's in particular seem odd when messed about with.

However, I thought this was exceptional:

I say go for it.
I sure wish that motorcycle manufacturers would offer more colors than just a couple.
I know the fiscal scale isn't there like autos but it sure woule be nice.

here she is, not yet finished, but was itching for an inaugural ride (as it had been 5 months without the purr of 152 horses between my legs).

I have the Monokey color matched topcase I have to put together and mount and the bags-but I haven't begun to figure out how to separate the hard outer shell from the inner shell.

I think the silver/aluminum painted parts on the bike would look great painted a platinum or pewter metalic and have the rims powder coated the same. The color I was thinking of this color: Porsche Wheel

Nice, what were your thoughts about color on the belly pan and front fender trim?
