Throttle cable...

So I have about a 1/2" slack in my throttle before I get tension.
While I had the tank off doing the 'upgrades' I noticed the cable where it wraps around the cam for the throttle linkage. I though about trying to tighten up the cable but it looked quite complicated and tight area to work in.

Has anyone actually tightened up their cable? Is it possible? Easy?

I'm guessing the tank would need removal (again ).

Thanks.....
Mike

There are some threaded barrel adjusters on the upper end of the throttle cables. Just make sure to leave some slack so things don't get too tight.

Instructions are attached below.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

When I picked up my bike back in June, there was a ton of slack in the feel of the throttle engagement, probably like that from the factory. I adjusted my cables as Meese indicated and it made a world of difference on my bike. But, as Meese said also, you can go too far and make it too tight. I just found the happy place and then left it alone ever since.

I've done the same adjustment on demo bikes I've taken out . . .

Seriously, how can you ride smoothly with such slop in the throttle?

Who said I rode smoothly.

Of course I was over complicating things....of course there's adjustment at the grip.
