Interesting detail

The article reads like a press release from BMW, but it has quite a bit of detail. Particularly this:

The optional Tyre Pressure Control system reliably informs the rider of current tyre pressure and makes a significant contribution to both riding comfort and safety. Tyre pressure data is provided by battery-powered sensors in the wheels, with either a yellow ‘information’ lamp or a red ‘warning’ lamp in the Info-Flatscreen informing the rider as soon as the pressure measured deviates beyond the margins allowed from the pressure required. TPC is scheduled for introduction in autumn 2006 and may be retrofitted as special equipment for all models following the start of production.

Sounds like a negotiation point. Obviously you're going to pay MSRP for a first-off-the-boat GT. Seems reasonable to ask the dealer to agree to throw in the not-yet-ready bells and whistles at no additional charge.

It doesn't just read like a press release; it's got to be text written by BMW.

But I have to admit, it does succeed in making the bike seem like the greatest thing since The Pill. Problem is the cost of access to this exclusive experience.

Hhrrr. I hate this.

I love the gizmag site. Lots of cools stuff. Typically, they pull stuff in from other sites, so some of that text is probably right out of a BMW press release. They interject their own take on some things throughout, but overall, I suspect you are correct that it was written for the most part by BMW.
