Zfe

Anyone here ever had their ZFE (central vehicle electronics) module replaced with a used one (like I find on eBay for $125 or so) and had the dealer agree to recode it, rather than pay $800+ for a new one.? Your experiences will be helpful as I consider this move.

My ZFE is failing, losing communications and causing the instrument panel to fail intermittently. I have eliminated all other possible causes and now believe the ZFE is at fault.

check the hall of wisdom.

The next time it happens take rt. side cover off and find the ecu try moving the wires to it and follow it up to the dash. Some guys found a bad wire I think around a wire tie. Good luck Mike

ha ha. That was Me. Turned out NOT to be the wire. I'm pretty sure it is the ZFE.

Thanks!
