ABS module early 06 k12

Good morning from the UK.
I've just had the new airbox and idle control valve on my early 2006 K12gt. This has solved my idle issues and it accelerates and decelerate like a dream.
Unfortunately I have the dreaded flashing brake failure light and according to my local bmw garage the fault code points to the abs module. A 1500 part in the uk. I still have the servo assist to the front brake but no assist to the rear brake (not that I use the rear brake much.) If keep switching power on and off every now and again I get the assist back but not for long. Could this be anything else other than the abs module?
If it is the abs module there is a local garage that are bmw specialists that say they can bypass the abs and remove the servos. Apparently a well known work around and generally a big improvement to the electric servo assist abs system. Is this the way forward?

Long post I know but don't want to spend 2000 on a abs module when I'm saving for 3 weeks in the USA next year.

It is the abs module, mine went the first trip way back in 2006 just like yours, I would have power then no power then power again. Very unnerving.
Glad to see your 2006 is still up and running great. Lost mine last year to an accident. Got a 2008GT now. Still smiling.
Good luck.

Before you rip the ABS out completely, I'd read this thread, and contact Module Master to see if they can help you. Looks like they're working on a solution for the iABS modules for the '06GT and other bikes.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
