ABS+speedometer+cruise control = speed sensor?

2006 k12GT. Replaced the fluid in my FD recently and shortly thereafter got brake failure triangle with intermittent speedometer and cruise control stopped working. Speedometer has all together quit and what started as an occasional brake triangle is now solid with "brake failure" displayed. I confirmed ABS does not work and the rear brake only seems to require much more pressure to achieve normal stopping. Front brakes still work great minus ABS protection. I'm thinking the common denominator here is the speed sensor and it must have died when it was removed from the FD to refill the FD oil. Would someone sanity check me here. Thanks

Let's hope it is the speed sensor. If it is the ABS, check out i-bmw.com for the ABS repair thread http://www.i-bmw.com/showthread.php?t=41122

That sounds like what I experienced when my final drive was about to go out. The sensor was caked with metal filings from bearings going out. If you're sensor looked clean, then it could be the sensor has gone out.

Sensor was caked with metal and i have a whirring noise under load. Sounds like my final drive may be failing.
