Service manual for 2006 K1200GT

Seems like lots to choose from, buy DVR and or download but WHICH ONE is best bang for buck?
I don't plan to tear this bike down but I like to read-learn-know what's what before I hand it over to the dealer

What choices have you seen? I only know of one. The BMW RepRom.

The confusion may be the fact that BMW made two separate and completely different motorcycles, both called "K1200GT."

Flying Brick K1200GT:
One type of K1200GT ceased production in 2004. It is the same motorcycle as a K1200RS from a repair point-of-view. The inline-four engine is mounted sideways, with the cylinders pointing to the rider's left. It is known as the "Flying Brick."

You can find third-party repair manuals for those Flying Brick K1200GTs but they won't apply to your newer type. If you see "K1200RS" anywhere near it, then you know that it is the wrong manual. If it is on paper of any kind, then it is the wrong manual (see below).

Slant 4 K1200GT:
Our model K1200GT, which started as a 2006, is known as the "Slant 4" type. It has that great transverse mounted engine that we love.

Sadly, there are no third-party repair books of any kind for the 2006+ K1200GT (or K1200S, K1200R, K1300GT, etc.) Nobody ever printed a paper repair manual for it. Your only choices for repair guidance are:

* The internet. There are lots of great how-to's and discussions about the best way to repair your K1200GT on the internet. The BMW Motorcycle Owners Association (BMWMOA) website has many excellent step-by-step repair guides for many repair jobs. (I can't remember if you must join BMWMOA to see them, but it is worthwhile to join anyway.) Other helpful places include the and forums.

* The official BMW RepROM: This DVD is the official repair manual for your 2006+ K1200GT and K1300GT. It runs only on Windows, but I run Windows on my Mac (using VMware Fusion) and it works fine there too.

PLEASE buy your RepROM from your BMW dealer (~ $100).

There are scumbags who will sell bootleg copies of older versions on the internet. Avoid older DVDs and CDs (!) which are missing updated information. Besides, would you trust it not to infect your computer?
