New GT mod better or worse?

I'm not a top-case guy, so I don't expect to use the silver-colored rack on the back of the bike. Wondering if it looks better without it removes with a few screws. There's some awkwardness at the ends of the handles, but the circle atop the brake light could easily accommodate a BMW logo. What do you think?

(I've also included a picture of a bagless GT. I think it looks a lot better with the bags on, so they're staying.)

I like it

Just picked up my GT yesterday. I also struggle with the topcase. I purchased the smaller one, but kind of hate the way it looks. I'm not sure whether I'll use ot or not. Your pictures compel me to think about that route as well.

I think it looks excellent. I'm a guy who likes bags so am a poor judge of design . . . but if clean, neat, is what you want. Couldn't get any better. Nice work.

I really like that look. I've decided against a topcase for now, so throwing on something like a Motofizz bag (from Aerostich) will work for me.

I did the same thing to mine! I didn't like the look of the rack either.

Funny, I put my rack back on. Just seemed a bit funny having the heater switch floating back there by itself. Interesting how you get used to things after a while...

I use the large topcase so the point is moot. I took the rack off of my R12GS and thought it looked a bit unfinished and weirdly, TOO SHORT. Could be all of the pix/advertisements always show the rack. A grab rail around it [GT]would look good, and whoever said the heater switch for the pillion out there all by itself, well, they're correct too.
