Paint and glossy finishing quality (or lack of)

Hi!
I have only 300 miles on my new GT and I noticed yesterday that I already scratched the paint on the fairing where my knees are in contact with the fairing, especially when I brake. It does not show on the picture attached but you can really see the scratches. I spent half an hour trying to wax/polish/wax polish... it is only marginaly better.
I am 6.3 so it may magnify the problem but I recommend the (tall) new owners to put adhesive protections. I am ordering the 3M invisible urethane protective film today!

I also noticed how fragile the glossy finish is; while I was removing bugs (using products recommended for this), I created minor scratches which are making me wondering about the overall paint job on this model. The finish on my R1150RT seemed much more "solid".
Thoughts?

Safe ride,

I haven't had any paint issues yet. I just got mine last week. You may want to soak with hot water and a towel any dried on bug crap. My dealer told me that BMW will warranty
paintwork for up to 1 year. I suggest you notify your dealer of the issue and see if his service dept can order new panel. I agree, it seems my 04' RT had a better finish. Let me
know about the 3M products. I want to do the headlight and the back of the tank.

ride safe

FYI: When you read your owners manual, you will find that painted parts only have a 1 year warranty -- not the 3 year warranty that the rest of the bike has. I think this is a change from previous years.
