K1200GT has an accurate speedo

Got the GPS wired up and did some testing. While my initial estimate was about 5% off, after some testing I'm thinking it's closer to 1-2%. I had a GPS indicated speed of 75MPH and the speedo looked like it was just a RCH above the 75MPH mark. At 50MPH on the GPS, it looked dead on. At 90MPH on the GPS it looked like it was a needle or two width above 90MPH. So all in all, the speedo on the GT is pretty much spot on.

Thank you for that info! So the 80 mph I kept reaching on my way home was accurate!

Ok, I think I can figure out the "CH" in "RCH", but the "R" has me scratching. Can you please elucidate?

I am surprised the speedo is so accurate. It's common practice among manufacturers to make speedos "optimistic" by at least 5%. I guess liability being the reason.

My guess is the R stands for Red, I usually go with BCH, but that's just because I am partial to Blondes!

But a CH is a CH is a CH! IMHO.

Yes, Red it is. Red has distinct measurement characteristics that blonde and brunette lack.

I used the mounts from www.legalspeeding.com

I know John Palamaro used the Gadget Guy mount www.gadgetguy.com

There was another person who used a RAM setup from www.cyclegadgets.com, and I've been talking with the guy who is the Panavise dealer at www.dallasmotorcycles.com

From BMW, there is supposed to be a BMW GPS Mount. Michael Bense had this up on his site (www.k1200gt.de)

Which part? The speedo was accurate, the definition of RCH, or that a BMW GPS mount for the GT does exist someplace in the world?
