Onboard Socket Charging Cable

Good afternoon,

I have a 2009 K1300GT and use my iPhone a lot when I ride (GPS, music, voice activated texting, phone calls).

I've been using this cable to charge:

https://www.powerlet.com/product/pow...ging-cable/631

That cable stopped working several weeks ago and I want to get another. I've looked at the reviews and have found that most people have said that it fails fairly soon after purchasing it.

is there a better option for a charging cable?

Thanks,

Ken

Garage
I also have a 2009 K1300GT
(I too use the GPS on my phone, bluetooth it to my Sena helmet headset, etc.)
Here is what I did:
A bit pricy but it looks great and keeps my phone charged on those all day rides

Added fuse block and wiring harness under battery cover on top of battery. (sorry, no photo)

Installed USB charger rocker switch on fairing. (see photo) Wired to the switched side of the fuseblock.

Installed a Techmount Iphone holder to the clutch lever mount. They have BMW K1200GT-1300GT specific mounts (see photo)

Theres a socket for the BMW GPS under the battery cover just by the steering pivot. Buy the plug from BMW and pull 12v from it.

I'll dig out the pinout if you cant find it.

I also installed the full extra fuseblocks box, and have a dual USB in the little 'glove box'
