2007 K1200GT- the Fuel Gauge Strip issue fixed in about three hours

Hi everyone
When I bought my bike , I had two, major issue but the price was right, one was overheating and the other one blinking yellow triangle and not showing the fuel , I did fix the overheating issue and I did post it , and this morning I worked on second issue the fuel strip issue , I removed all the panels , disconnected two plugs and fuel line , less then 3 min, and I removed the tank from bike, You don't need take gas out (as you can see I have half of tank gas inside nor take fuel pump side out .All I did use ohm meter , and I did read two center pins ( in 2 and 3) in 3rd photo and ohmmeter did read nothing , it was open, I did use zipper light mod and zipped couple times , that did the trick total cost well nothing but used light i had in house!!!!!!
( And here is link for light mod) https://www.instructables.com/id/Scr...hter-Teardown/
I did used ohm meter and this time it did read 2.92 K ohm, installed everything back and worked like charm , it showed the yellow triangle for about 10 second and it was gone and now the gauge was working great , dealer wanted around $450 and again not sure even new one how long would last , BMW had 12 years warranty and mine pass warranty date, So I thought it share it everyone , total time around 3 hours and most of that was removing and installing panels !!!! see the Photos. Now the only thing is left to reset the service warning!! and for that I need GS911 , which I don't have budget right now, but wait minute, I saved $450!!!! I can afford it now

You don't need the GS911. Just need an OBD reader and the Motoscan app for your phone.

That won't fit a 1200GT without an adapter - https://www.amazon.com/OHP-Diagnosti.../dp/B01HQSNBR2

Did the Scripto lighter igniter reset the BMW fuel sensor?
My 09 GSA and 14 R-Nine-T are both in need of a fuel gauge fix.

Yes per this link.
Also per this link the MX adds ABS codes for only $10 more than the LX.

I'm glad it worked for you but unfortunately the odds are that it will fail again, and then you will pull all the body work off and pull the tank and do it all over again, then in another 3-6 months after that... well, you get the idea.

When it fails again just do the resistor mod to show a full tank (and prevent the warning light) and just use the trip odometer to determine fuel consumption so you can be done with f-ing with the sender/guage forever. Or you can mess with it multiple more times before you do this, but if you keep the bike long enough eventually you will.
