I am a bit surprised that they are making so many Crystal Gray. I saw one at the Long Beach convention center motorcycle show last year and I was not all that pleased.

How many of you have picked crystal grey?

Better question--what color do you have? Wonder if we will come up with 33% split?

Crystal Grey. In the sunlight, it's a really bright silver and looks great.

I wanted the Metallic Graphite but someone took it before I made up my mind. I know someone who has the blue on an old K75 and it looks pretty sad and shows dirt, mud, and bug splats like mad. Scratches show up pretty badly too on the darker colors.

So I ended up with the Crystal Grey (silver). It's sort of growing on me and it doesn't show the dirt and bug splats as well. The trunk sort of matches the color as well. Any color of riding gear suits it as well where blue might look a little funky with a red suit. It's not too far off from the popular silver R1150RT.

I believe the one BMW had on intro tour was an off-white of some sort as many referred to it as a refrigerator white - including their dealers. The Crystal Grey is anything but white.

The color presents varied aspects when viewed in different types of light. It doesn't do well under florescents - but in direct sunlight there are (to my eye) a hint of bronze metalic undertones to the silver -quite nice. Sometimes it looks like a plain light metallic silver and at other times like battleship gray. Of course, that's my color so no hint of bias here ...

My choice....

when I visited my dealer they had just gotten in a Blue and a CryGrey, I prefer the lighter colors and selected the Grey.

This is interesting.. I suspected that most would say they preferred the other colors than the crystal gray. I saw the graphite metalic and liked it a great deal.

I have yet to see the crystal gray. My dealer has one coming next week. He swears I will like it a lot.

If I do like it--should I wait for the '07?

I wanted the slower blue color but they only had the fastest crystal gray color so I had to take it. It scares me it is so fast.
