Need for Loctite on windshield bolts?

Hi,

I will receive my Cee Bailey +5/+3 next week, and I'm wondering if there is a need for some (blue) Loctite on the bolts that go in the screenholder?

When unscrewing the bolts of the stock screen, I was surprised to find no traces of any tightening compound on them, as well as the torque, with which they were tightened, to be very low? They came loose with practically no effort, so very low torque was applied?

Does the workplace handbook say something about Loctite to be applied?

Thx to share if you know.

I was also surprised to find how easy the screws came out. I did not apply any loctite, just snugged the screws down.

You can use loctite, BUT be very careful not to get any on the plastic windscreen, it can soften/dissolve it (there was such a warning on the Cee Beiley for my F).

There wasn't any on the screws when I replaced the screen with the Cee Bailey about 6 weeks ago, so I didn't put any on. I do check them now and then and so far seem fine. Never knew what the torque values are supposed to be just kind of tightened them down.

No, I've owned numberous Cee Bailey windscreens and have had them and the stockers on and off many many times.......

No locktite is required.

it sure is required on a GS screen....
with that boxer, the screws loosen up PRETTY FAST

Must say...

I have to disagree about the "required on GS".

I had the CeeBaileys windscreen on my 1150GS Adv and never had any problems with the screws backing out.

Same here, even on my F650GS, no loctite and never a problem. I stayed away from it after reading warnings from Parabellum about not only direct contact, but the fumes from loctite causing fogging and cracking with many plastics used for windshields.
