Front Fender bolts tight?

I just returned from a 6300 mile ride, I put a report together later, but thought I would pass this little tidbit on for ya'll to check. About 1k miles into the trip, my front fender bailed on me, after stopping and checking things out, the lower two bolts were there and tight, but the upper two were gone! I removed the lower two bolts to remove the pieces of plastic still on the bike, and the bolts were tight, so either the shop removed the fender to install the new front tire (just prior to leaving on the trip) and didn't re-install them, they were never there, or they were never tightened and worked themselves loose.

Anyways, I just thought I would pass this on so you could check your bikes.

Sounds just like the RT's. Our RT's did the same thing. BMW came up with a special "lock" screw to solve the problem. I had mine off when I replaced the black plastic part thanks to the bunny incident, and they were good and tight then.
