Going for the BunBurner and LS1000 on the GT

I am in the final planning stages to do the Lake Superior 1000 and a Bunburner 1500 on the GT. I am going to go for it stock except for a Baehr Ultima XL, Big Mak gadget mount with a 2720 and Escort and a +4+2 CB windshield.

I don't have time to get the seat done before I go. This may be the weak point in the plan, but, I think that I can make it.

I have a window of 2 days 9/8 or 9/9 that I am planning for and will make the decision based on weather. My route will begin in Appleton, WI and go NW to Thunder Bay, ON then east to Sault Ste Marie, MI, south to Milwaukee WI finally heading north to back home in Appleton.

I really believe that this is the best machine for endurance touring.

Thumbs up

I put over 1000 miles on the GT in the last 2 days, and I'm really starting to take ownership of this puppy. But she does indeed need a new seat...BAD! And it's got Russell's name all over it.

Good luck with your venture. I don't do the IBA stuff...but if you're into it, cool beans! Go for it!

Hey Joe,

If you need a bandaid fix for the seat, call Tina at Motolights and get the 14"x14" beadrider. It makes the GT seat tolerable.

I already have a BeadRider . . . and I tried the AirHawk. Neither worked for me. I can ride with the stock seat, I just need more breaks than I like. No big deal. I'll just hold out until I can get a Russell.
