POI Sites ?

Hi
I have just purchased a Garmin 2820 my first GPS system and i am in the process of getting it up and running. I am from the uk and has anyone located a free, or isn't there such a thing as a free POI web site so that i can download the speed camera sites in the uk & europe.

Thanks in anticipation

Tim

Tim,

This site isn't free, but at 9.95 per year I think its worth it.

You can get it free if you participate in identifying cameras, but I figure 10 is worth it.

I joined and use it on my 2820. I just got back from a 5,400 km. trip through the Alps and it saved my butt on more than one occassion.

That's exactly what they are. There are thousands of fixed location speed cameras throughout Europe that just love snapping pictures of our bikes and then being kind enough to send a copy to our home.

Unfortunately the price of one of these 8 x 10 glossies tends to start at around 100 and work its way up from there - not to mention the loss of points off of your license. The worse part is that once you receive your picture, you can't say no if you dont like the way it turned out or if they snapped your bad side.

With certain Garmin units you can load the camera locations as points of interest and the GPS will warn you as you get close to one, plus if you are going over the speed limit set for that camera it will beep at you until you reduce your speed below the limit for that camera.
